Individuals in the Brain Injury Day Treatment programs participate in a variety of activities including supported employment, competitive employment, continuing education (college, trade school) and volunteering in community settings. There are daily opportunities for community activities to support skill building, education and socialization. Community integration groups use community resources such as stores, libraries, museums and restaurants to address treatment goals. Staff members in the clinical setting help individuals address budgeting, nutrition, health awareness, brain injury awareness, advocacy and employment issues. Integrated therapies, including physical, occupational and speech therapy, cognitive remediation, neuropsychology and vocational services are combined in individualized programs to meet short- and long-term goals.
