Family Support

The Office of the Family Advocate was established in the summer of 2003 to offer an additional line of communication within the organization for the families and guardians of those served. In addition to serving as a resource to individual families in need of assistance, the Family Advocate is helps to strengthen our overall culture of customer service, and is working on other initiatives that encourage staff and families to work in partnership with one another. Anyone interested in talking with the Family Advocate, Kathy Ross, can call her at 856-429-5637, ext. 336.

Family Council
The Bancroft Family Organization Advisory Committee was established to serve as a resource to Bancroft management, on family matters and concerns. The Advisory Committee includes parents or guardians (or other close family members) of children and adults served by Bancroft, with members representing each major program when possible (e.g. geographically).

Focus on Families Newsletter
Bancroft's Focus on Families newsletter, distributed quarterly, keeps families informed of things happening at Bancroft, as well as other matters pertinent to the disability community.

Family Seminar Series
Seminars and workshops are offered routinely covering a wide range of topics. This free seminar series is designed to provide information related to disability issues, and other topics of interest to families and professionals.

Family Directory
The Bancroft Family Directory is published every other year to encourage communication and support among families of those served. The Directory includes family contact information alphabetically by name, as well as in order geographically. Participation in the Family Directory is completely voluntary, but only those families who sign up to be included in the Directory will receive a copy. Therefore, we encourage you to sign up so that you will have the information you want when you want it. For further information, please contact Sue Crouse at 856-429-5637, ext. 279.

Family Email Communication List
A Bancroft Family E-mail Communication List is used to communicate with families routinely. This list has become a very helpful tool for Bancroft to use to communicate with family members in a faster, more efficient and cost-effective manner. Rather than waiting for upcoming issues of Focus on Families or other written communications, the email list would enable you to receive immediate emails from Bancroft on urgent or time-sensitive issues or events. To sign up, please contact the Office of the Family Advocate at 856-429-5637, ext. 336.

Family Satisfaction Surveys
Soliciting the opinions of the people we serve and their families is one of the best ways Bancroft NeuroHealth can evaluate the quality of its services. Therefore, regular satisfaction surveys of families are conducted to determine the level at which those we serve and their families are satisfied. The data is compared with prior year data and is used in organizational planning to help determine performance improvement priorities, resource allocation, and staff training needs. For further information, please contact the Quality Management Department at 856-429-5637, ext. 249.

In addition, the Office of Family Advocate maintains data on family complaints and grievances, and presents a report to management staff for Performance Improvement purposes twice a year. This report includes information ranging from numbers of calls received from families associated with each area, as well as topics of concern being raised.
