Early Education Program
Give your child a head start in Special Education
For children with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, providing the best possible start in the early childhood years can have a profound impact on your child’s future.
Bancroft Early Education Program is proven to provide children a solid foundation for success by building on mastered skills as they learn a new one. Students gain a love of learning while developing social skills, making friends and having fun.
At Bancroft we know there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution in Special Education. Each Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is carefully developed based on the skills and challenges of each child along with goals and benchmarks to measure progress.
The instruction plan addresses academic, social, behavioral and communicative skills through one-on-one and group activities. On-site therapies, including music, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy and instructional technology ensure every student maximizes his or her potential
Parents and family members are integral members of the student’s education team. We have an open door policy for families and welcome class observation and collaboration in the classroom and community.
Parents and guardians receive daily written communication, weekly phone calls and monthly face-to-face meetings. Training for family members is also available to ensure positive learning continues at home.
Participating in community outings and reading sessions at the public library give our Early Education students opportunities to put their new social and behavioral skills into practice. This is an important step in preparing them for the transition back to their school districts or into The Bancroft School elementary program.
All of our teachers, therapists and teacher assistants are trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). A certified substitute teacher is present in every classroom in addition to the regular teacher, to ensure there are no gaps in your child’s education.
On-site expertise also includes nursing and certified experts in assistive technology, communication, and augmentative devices.
Bancroft Early Education is funded by each student’s school district under the Federal Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA).
Refer to the Parents Rights in Special Education (PRISE) manual for guidance on how to seek an appropriate out of district placement for your son or daughter. Private pay is also available.
