 Barbara and Sheldon
Berkman (top) and Tom Hayevy and Claudia Connolly,
Bancroft family members and co-chairs of the
Butterfly Ball Committee, are pictured with Greg
Dobbs, our dinner chair and #19 Philadelphia
Phillies. Thanks to the efforts of Barbara
and Claudia, in particular, more and more Bancroft
family members have been supporting the
organization's biggest fund-raiser.
Butterfly Ball a Big
Success!
We
celebrated our new wings with about 300 friends
and supporters last Saturday night at the 17th
annual Butterfly Ball. What a wonderful event it
was! We were thrilled to
have Greg Dobbs of the National League Champion
Philadelphia Phillies as this year's dinner
chairman, who welcomed everyone with great
sincerity and enthusiasm for Bancroft. The event
raised almost $300,000 in support of Bancroft
programs and services We also
presented Stewart Business Systems and its
president, Joe O'Malley, with Bancroft's Corporate
and Community Leadership Award for the company's
extensive support of our mission. In addition, we
honored Barbara and Jack Tarditi with the Margaret
Bancroft Award for their commitment to
Bancroft. The Butterfly Ball also
marked the external unveiling of our new brand,
which includes our shortened name (we're now
simply "Bancroft"), our new tag line "One World.
For Everyone." and our new logo. The
winner of the VIP Phillies Home Game package
raffle drawing is Jennifer Potter.
Congratulations, Jennifer! And, so
the Ball may be over but our quest to make it one
world for everyone will continue. Click
here to make an on-line donation to support
our mission. Click

in a relay during Jump Rope for
Heart.
Jumping for
Charity Students
had fun jumping around today while raising money
for the American Heart Association, so far at
$324. Jump Rope for Heart is a fund raiser for
schools but it also encourages cardiovascular

habits. Students and staff participated in jump
rope activities and fun games. Congratulations to

Haddonfield jeweler supports
Bancroft
Sam Yampell Jewelers on Kings
Highway in Haddonfield is holding a raffle drawing
in their store to win a Rolex watch, with a
portion of the proceeds going to Bancroft.
The event will take place Friday, December 4th and
Saturday, December 5th, and we are encouraging
Bancroft representatives (e.g., staff, families)
to stop in during that two day period to greet
customers, and thank them for their support.
It's a nice outreach opportunity for Bancroft, and
who wouldn't mind visiting a jewelry store during
the Holiday Season? They are open Friday 10-8 p.m.
and Sat. 10-5 p.m. For further
information on Yampell Jewelers, check out their
website at (http://rs6.net/tn.jsp?t=ai9cnddab.0.0.7n9pimcab.0&ts=S0433&p=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.samyampelljewelers.com&id=preview).

Calling all Bancroft
supporters!
Help us reach out to other
families by phone - and have fun doing it!
Our next Development "Calling Parties"
will be held December 8-10 and December 15-17, and
we are looking for volunteers from 6 to 8 p.m.
each evening. Volunteers will be calling other
families to follow-up on a recent mailing to
appeal for unrestricted donations, which are
needed to support every Bancroft program.
Who better than Bancroft family members
can communicate the importance of supporting
Bancroft's mission to others?
We will
provide the phones, a calling list, and talking
points for you to use as you call other families
of children or adults served by Bancroft. These
are NOT COLD CALLS. Our Development staff will be
available to help you with any questions you or
your callers may have. And, feel free to bring
your own "rolodex" of friends and family you may
want to ask to help.
We will provide pizza
and refreshments to keep our callers pumped up. We
will also have prize drawings!
These calls
will make a huge difference in the success of our
annual unrestricted campaign. Please let us know
as soon as possible, if you can join us. Please
contact Michael McLaughlin in the Development
Office at (856)
348-1171. |
