Chapel Hill Training Outreach Project
An organization dedicated to educating children with disabilities. "CHTOP is a national provider of training and technical assistance services, and audiovisual and print materials, as well as a provider of direct services to families and children such as Head Start. CHTOP has assisted Federal and State governments in networking various clusters of grantees and has developed an impressive history of training and technical assistance activities and a reputation for quality product development."
Community Health Law Project

The family village is a website for children and adults with disabilities, their families and allies. It brings together thousands of online resources in an organized, easy to use directory. Provides information on New Jersey's emergency response hotline. "2-1-1 is the first three-digit telephone number dedicated to health, human services, and community life. It is the place to find the location of shelter during a flood or power outage, information about the nearest child care center, legal service, housing, immigration, employment, or service in a language other than English."
NJ Council on Disabilities
Provides information on the purpose and mission of the New Jersey Council of Disabilities. The New Jersey Council of Disabilities "is funded by the federal government with matching funds from the state, is a lead change agent in the state responsible for a vision of what the lives of people with developmental disabilities should be. Through its membership and its activities and projects, the Council provides a forum and resources for making its vision a reality."
NJ C-Pep Program
This is the official website of the New Jersey Children's Placement Enhancement Pilot (C-PEP) Program. Some children with developmental disabilities have such challenging behavioral and medical needs that they cause chaos at home, struggle unsuccessfully in a regular school setting and, ultimately, require a very high level of care. DDD has the ability to work with families to help address these needs through a broad continuum of services and supports. When these situations become the most challenging, DDD can arrange for emergency assistance by finding a safe place for the child to live temporarily. When even that assistance is not enough, DDD has the ability to work with qualified agencies to develop therapeutically support programs tailored to address the individual needs of a particular child through its Children's Placement Enhancement Project (CPEP).
NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities
The NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities coordinates and provides services for people with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, spina bifida and traumatic brain injuries. Services include counseling, respite care for family members, and referral services to other community-based resources needed. This Division also operates seven developmental centers, where people with developmental disabilities receive round-the-clock care and it licenses privately operated group homes, supervised apartments, supported living programs and skill development and family care homes in communities throughout the state.
NJ Division of Disability Services
The Division of Disability Services provides information and referral services to people with disabilities and their families, who are seeking help locating appropriate resources in their communities. The Division also is responsible for overseeing various Medicaid home-and community-based waiver programs that are designed to help people with disabilities live as independently as possible.

NJ Department of Medical Assistance and Health Services
Health Care for People with Disabilities is provided by the Division of Medical Assistance and Health Services, through its New Jersey Care 2000+ program. The program helps to enroll Medicaid-eligible aged, blind or disabled residents in Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) through which their medical care can be coordinated and managed. Referral and information also can be obtained by calling the Division of Disability Services at 1-888-285-3036.
NJ Department of Mental Health Services
The Division of Mental Health Services coordinates and provides community-based supports, like counseling, emergency screening, case management and residential and day program services and, if necessary, in-patient care for people with mental illness. Regarding the latter, this division operates five psychiatric hospitals in New Jersey.
