Admissions & Funding Resources

Start the Journey

Finding the right services and funding can be complex and sometimes challenging. Our admissions specialists are trained to help families, school districts, and referrers assess a person’s unique needs, and identify the options that best position them for success.

Bancroft supports adults and children with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities from across the country.

If you have questions about support options or funding, call 800-774-5516 to speak to an admissions specialist.

Funding for Bancroft’s Children’s Services

We work with children ages 3-21 through special education, day services and residential programs.

Funding for our special education begins with a child’s home school district. Alternatively, parents may be referred to Bancroft by the school’s child study team or case manager.

For residential programs, in New Jersey, we work with NJ Children’s System of Care. In other states we work with such funders as PA-Magellan, Community Behavioral Health, various Medicaid providers and PerformCare, as well as numerous school districts.

Funding for Bancroft’s Adult Services

Bancroft programs for adults are designed to accommodate a range of abilities and support needs. Our aim is to empower those we serve to live as independently as possible, from those in need of intensive behavioral support and round-the-clock care to those who require minimal guidance in life skills.

The first step is to determine which services your loved one is qualified to receive. This process will vary, depending upon the state where the person seeking services lives.

In New Jersey, the first step is to contact your Supports Coordinator and tell them you are in need of services. Although services do not begin until age 21, individuals may be evaluated for eligibility as early as age 18. Through New Jersey’s fee-for-service system, eligibility for funding for adult services is determined by the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) or the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS).

For Pennsylvania residents, the first step is to obtain a Consolidated Waiver through the state’s Department of Human Services.

Delaware residents should first apply for services through the state’s Division of Developmental Disabilities Services.
