Testimonials

Bancroft families are sharing messages of appreciation for the work our program staff and Direct Support Professionals have been doing to keep their loved ones safe in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis.

“Thank you to all staff. You are our heroes!”

CRSA/Adult Residential

Thank you for keeping all of us informed in detail about the proactive planning and management going on behind the scenes at Bancroft. You can’t imagine what a relief it is to hear about the care being given to our family members. As I am in Florida and my loved one is in NJ, I am so pleased to hear good news from so far away.

I remain grateful to the DSPs who are committed to ensuring the safety of those entrusted to their care. I have much respect for the ones I have come to know over the years and think of them as friends. They often go out of their way to meet the needs of those they serve and are so willing to go out of their way to plan special events that they know will be enjoyed.

I can’t say enough about Bancroft and all those who make it a great organization!

BNR

I’d like to thank all of the direct care staff and everyone who has taken care of the individuals who live on the Brick campus during this crisis! I cannot tell you how much all of your efforts are appreciated by myself, my husband and all of my family!

Also I want to thank all of the people providing my son’s special services – Cognitive Therapy, OT, PT, Psychotherapy – during this trying time. It’s very comforting to me to be able to see him on his iPad and know that you all are doing the best you can to make him safe and healthy! Thank you all so much!”

Flicker/Adult Residential

I am amazed at the staff at Flicker for what they are doing to keep residents (including our daughter) occupied and comfortable!!! Cannot thank them enough!”

CRSA/Adult Residential

I would like to thank and recognize Yinka Osaghae and the residential staff at our son’s group home – along with the staff members from the Burlington Day program.

They are dedicated, hard working, caring and compassionate individuals. They do an amazing job to ensure that our son and his housemates are safe, healthy and happy each and every day.

Please let them know how special they are to our family and much they are truly appreciated!”

The supervisor and staff in my daughter’s apartment have been doing an incredible job with the ladies during this very difficult time.

I have not been able to visit in about 8 weeks. I miss her terribly. Staff has taught my daughter how to FaceTime me. I didn’t know that was possible. We FaceTime several times throughout the day. My daughter shows me all the arts and crafts she has done, her beautiful necklaces and bracelets she has made. Staff is being so creative with meals, and my daughter loves to tell me all the different dishes she is eating. Thanks to her team she is happy and healthy.

I thank all of you for this effort.”

Our son’s house manager has been great with setting us up with Google Hangouts. We can now communicate with him on a weekly basis. This makes a big difference since we cannot visit at this time.”

“I want to take a moment and praise you all for all your hard work you have done through this time.

Words cannot even express the peace you have given my daughter and I through every day. It was hard not being there to see her and just help out as mom should.  But I’m so blessed to have you all!!

You guys have done an outstanding job for the whole house (but you always have).  My daughter has never been so happy! She just looked calm and relaxed and peaceful. No anxiety — and I owe that to our family team! You guys provide her with the best, loving, supportive, structured environment that she could ever need or want. During this extra tough time you all went out of your way to ensure that you helped her.

As a mom I truly appreciate each and every one of you with all my heart!!  You all have made this trying time very easy.  Thank you for every day! Please always know after your day, you are all doing something so special in this world! I could not do one day without you all!!!”

“The entire staff of our daughter’s group home deserves so much recognition. The entire team of direct care staff have more than risen to the challenge of meeting the needs of our daughter and her housemates.

Every day, the house is participating in fun and engaging activities. The level of involvement from the staff has made all the difference for my daughter. Keeping a house full of young women busy is not an easy task, but staff are constantly coming up with creative ways to make the most out of unusual circumstances.

Receiving pictures of our daughter laughing and smiling during activities brings the biggest smile to our faces, and provides us with a big sigh of relief knowing that she is in great hands.

We take comfort in knowing that our daughter is safe, happy, and well cared for by Bancroft. It’s because of your protocols, policies and training that the Bancroft community is remaining healthy and standing proud during this most difficult time in our country.

Thank you to all of our heroes at Bancroft.”

What is a Direct Support Professional?

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are caregivers who work with people with physical or intellectual/developmental disabilities, helping them with daily activities and supporting them in integrating into the community, and achieving greater levels of independence.

But they’re so much more than that.

Working here takes special people who are caring and committed. We are always looking for people to join our team.

A little appreciation goes a long way. Is there a Bancroft DSP or team that is special to you? Honor them with a donation.
