Bancroft Names New Board Chair and Announces Additional Board Member

Heather A. Steinmiller, Esq. will be the first female board chair in the organization’s 140-year history.

(Cherry Hill, N.J.) – Bancroft, a regional leader in specialized services for children and adults living with neurological conditions, autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities, has announced that Heather Steinmiller, Esq. of Conner, Strong & Buckelew will be named Chairperson for the organization’s Board of Trustees, and Mary Griffin of the African American Chamber of Commerce New Jersey has been added as a new board member.  

“Our Board of Trustees comprises a dedicated team of community leaders committed to moving Bancroft forward and creating access for those who need us,” said Toni Pergolin, Bancroft President & CEO. “I am honored to be working alongside Heather and Mary and tapping into their talent and leadership to further our mission.” 

Heather Steinmiller has served on Bancroft’s Board of Trustees for six years and her appointment to Board Chair makes her the first female leader in that position in the organization. She currently serves as Executive Partner and General Counsel for Conner Strong & Buckelew and was previously in-house employment counsel for a publicly traded company with assets worth over $49 billion and 15,000 employees.  Steinmiller received her B.A. at St. Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana and her Law Degree from Villanova University School of Law. 

Mary Griffin serves as the Vice President, Member Relations and Programs at the African American Chamber of Chamber of New Jersey (AACCNJ).  Previously, Griffin spent thirty-seven years as a Program Manager/Project Director in the telecommunications industry.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville, North Carolina and her Master’s Degree in Computer Science.
