Holman Donates to Bancroft's Early Education Program in an effort to Enhance Sensory Development for Early Learners

Moorestown, NJ — Bancroft’s Preschool and Early Education Program received a $10,000 grant from Holman, a global automotive services leader headquartered in Mount Laurel, to create an interactive sensory room with new sensory equipment, a space, and items the school previously did not have when a sensory break for the students was needed.

Bancroft’s Preschool & Early Education program kicked off the school year with a new addition: a newly renovated sensory room, thanks to a $10,000 grant from Holman. Sensory rooms provide a calming and controlled environment for children with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities, helping them regulate their senses, reduce stress, and improve communication, focus and social skills.

“This grant has allowed us to enhance and enrich the lives of our students,” said Lisa Scaringelli, Principal of the Preschool & Early Education Program. “It’s only been a few weeks since the children have been able to enjoy it, but I can already see the difference it’s making. We are so grateful to Holman for their generosity and dedication to giving back to their community.”

The renovation transformed what was once a single-room sensory space into a much larger sensory room alongside four smaller, more intimate spaces. This new layout allows multiple students to enjoy the room at once without feeling overcrowded. The redesigned space features a variety of sensory tools and equipment, including a canoe, micro swing, squeeze seat, sequin wall, sensory tiles, wiggle car, and a vibrant mural, all aimed at creating a stimulating, engaging environment for the children.

Bancroft is committed to being at the forefront of innovative instruction and therapeutic interventions for children with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. Support from community partners, like Holman helps advance our mission and provide exceptional services to the individuals we support.
