$9,500 grant funds partnership between Bancroft, Perkins Center for the Arts

Bancroft has received a $9,500 grant from the TD Charitable Foundation to establish Arts in Healing, a new partnership with the Perkins Folklife Center and Perkins Center for the Arts

Arts in Healing will be a monthslong series of immersive arts experiences for more than 100 participants in Bancroft’s adult day programs. Planned programs include pottery and cooking activities, dance, and the creation of a mural at the Jacob Schaefer Center in Cherry Hill. The partnership aims to improve access to community-based cultural events and programming — programs that are often difficult for people with disabilities to participate in.

Among the first activities was a cooking and baking class at the Burlington Agricultural Center in April, where participants tried their hand at making cream puffs from scratch.

TD Bank and the TD Charitable Foundation have supported Bancroft for more than 15 years, giving more than $521,000 to programs and events, including Vocational and Employment Programs at the Bancroft School, the Lebensfeld Day Program, and at Bancroft NeuroRehab.
