Dear Bancroft Families:
In this unprecedented time throughout the world, we remain focused on the health and well-being of your loved one in our program. We know the critical nature of the support they receive each and every day and are proud to work beside them to help them realize their potential.
Our concern for their safety grows as the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and we will be closing our day program sites temporarily as of Tuesday, March 17, 2020. This includes Bancroft Neuro Rehab Day Program as well. The environment of large gatherings and sharing of close space is counter to the recommended precautions that must be taken to reduce the spread of the virus.
This closure is consistent with the directive to all DDD providers throughout the state, which also includes restrictions on community outings that are not for the health or safety of an individual. As previously communicated, any non-emergency medical appointment for your loved one is being rescheduled at this time.
We also need to remind our families that we are not permitting visitation to any of our sites including group homes as of Monday, March 16. It’s an important measure in keeping us all safe.
This will be a difficult time, but necessary. We want to assure you that we will do everything we can to help each person continue to experience activities within their home environments. We will be helping our staff throughout the organization work on creative ways to incorporate fun and activity into their new schedules.We are also training staff about appropriate information sharing when it comes to those in our care, cognisant of their concerns and needs.
