Bancroft offers volunteer opportunities in a variety of program areas to allow you to share your talents, time and interests with the programs and individuals we serve.

Volunteer opportunities include working with children and adults with autism, intellectual or developmental disabilities and brain injuries, enhancing or maintaining group homes and program facilities and providing office skills.

Over 400 volunteers have given their time and talents to assist Bancroft in accomplishing our mission.

Opportunities for Service Groups

If you are a business or organization looking for a project that impacts the community, makes a difference in a person’s life and builds teamwork, we have the project for you.  With other 200 group homes, apartments, school and other program sites extra hands are always welcome.

Service projects include:

  • Painting/staining
  • Landscaping
  • Planning holiday parties
  • Hosting or supporting a dance/event for children and or adults
  • Gardening
  • Cleaning, shopping and setting up for a new group home to prepare for move-in day
  • Special event support
  • Adopt a group home for a year
  • Birthday club

Professional Opportunities

Do you have special gifts, talents, education or abilities to share?

  • Serving on a planning committee
  • Offering special training for Bancroft staff
  • Teaching a continuing education class for individuals with disabilities
  • Presenter/trainer for professional workshops
  • Lending expertise in area such as finance, human resources, strategic planning, development or marketing
  • Assisting in office organization
  • Sharing cultural celebrations or observances
  • Offering religious opportunities
