Pennsylvania Adult Residential Programs
Bancroft’s Pennsylvania Residential Program offers more independent, supported living options for adults with autism and intellectual or developmental disabilities who require little staff support in day-to-day activities.
Located just outside Philadelphia in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, beautiful single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums allow each person to balance their need for privacy with time spent together with other members of the household, many of whom become friends for life.
Each residence offers private bedrooms, a full kitchen and common areas for relaxation and socialization with housemates.
What Does a Typical Day Look Like?
Residents typically share in daily responsibilities and household chores. Most take part in a structured day program or paid employment during the week. On nights and weekends, they may opt to take part in group or individual recreation and leisure activities as they choose. Residents are encouraged to navigate the community independently.
Staff Support for Greater Independence
Staff members maintain office space close by, checking in with residents on a regular basis to ensure their needs are being met.
Staff often assist with life skills such as:
- Medication administration
- Arranging transportation
- Setting appointments
- Budget management
They may also provide companionship, help facilitate leisure activities and join in celebrating life’s many milestones.
