Bancroft is celebrating Danielle Ager, Psy.D., who provides neuropsychological evaluations and diagnostic assessments in our autism services line. Ager has earned her Board Certification in Clinical Neuropsychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP), an honor that sets her apart as an expert in her field.
“This certification validates years of hard work, study, and dedication,” said Dr. Ager. “It’s the gold standard in our profession, and achieving it demonstrates my commitment to providing the best care for the individuals we serve at Bancroft.”
The certification process is rigorous and comprehensive, designed to ensure that only the most highly-trained professionals earn the title. Candidates must undergo a multi-step evaluation, including a credential review, written examination, submission of work samples, and a challenging three-hour oral examination in Chicago.
“They look for both breadth and depth of knowledge,” Dr. Ager explained. “It’s a way to ensure that neuropsychologists not only meet but exceed the standards of care expected in this field.”
Her accomplishment places her in an elite group—within a 50-mile radius of Bancroft, there are only 39 board-certified clinical neuropsychologists. Bancroft now employs three of these highly specialized professionals, underscoring the organization’s commitment to providing unparalleled expertise in serving individuals with autism, brain injuries, and other developmental challenges.
“This achievement is not just personal but significant for Bancroft as an organization,” Dr. Ager noted. “Having board-certified professionals on staff showcases the breadth of expertise and excellence that Bancroft offers. It’s part of what makes us stand out.”
Dr. Ager credits her success to the support she received from her colleagues and leadership at Bancroft. “Bancroft made room in my schedule for study time and accommodated my needs throughout the process,” she said. “I couldn’t have done this without my incredible team. They helped me prepare and stayed in my corner every step of the way.”
Dr. Ager is passionate about her work and the collaborative environment at Bancroft. “One day, I might be working with a two-year-old, and the next, a 17-year-old with completely different needs and stories. It’s fulfilling to help them overcome challenges and make meaningful progress. Plus, I love the team I work with—they inspire me every day.”
Toni Pergolin, President and CEO of Bancroft, applauded the achievement. “Danielle’s dedication to excellence exemplifies Bancroft’s mission to provide exceptional care. Her accomplishment enhances the level of expertise we can offer to our community and further solidifies Bancroft as a leader in neuropsychological care.”
